The advertisements are appealing and really hard to overlook: A peaceful setting boasting comfortable and beautiful people, all of whom ostensibly got that way by experiencing the “spa” living. The reality is, from day health spas to end of the week spas to weeklong spa getaways, this form of “healthy” relaxation has become famous that a survey shows that of all American adults – some 57 million people – plus 4 million teens have had at least one day at an asian spa. Some of the good reasons cited: Stress reduction and alleviation, relaxing painful joints and muscles, and simply feeling better about oneself. And authorities say the survey results was not a big shock to them.

Nearly all massage therapies involve being touched, a vital element in assisting us unwind and feel great. Physical contact is necessary to our well-being, and even if the touching comes from a stranger, if that unknown person is an experienced there to pamper you, that touch will have a beneficial impact.
